vendetta online running on 1ghz ram eeepc using defualt xandros

I am using a custom kernel to recognize the 2gb of ram, called fmlinuz. This is on the stock xandros, advanced mode. you can DL and install zsnes by adding the repository deb ftp.us.debian.org stable main contrib non-free to /etc/apt/sources.list and then: sudo apt-get update to add the new packages, then apt-get install zsnes WARNING: this new repository is for debian, so remove the repository from sources.list before sudo ap-get upgrade to upgrade your installed packages! ps: the emu is installed on the built-in flash memory and the rom is sitting pretty on an 8gb class 6 transcend SDHC card. cheers!

Larry Kettler, VP of business development at Xandros, notes his compan’s implementation of Linux for the pioneering Asus EEE PC. He says Xandros has adopted Moblin v2 for future netbook implementations. He demonstrates a Moblin v2-based fast boot product called “presto,” which is aimed at Windows systems. He also shows off the Xandros CNR (click and run) application store, and highlights Xandros’s PIM product for Moblin, a “Flipper” application switcher, and a push email client for Moblin. He concludes with a plug for the Xandros ecosystem, app store, and user experience.

xandros presto is a revoltionary software and i love it. it is super fast, and is perfect for netbooks. the customer support is great, i had lost my license key and they sent it to me, only to find out that i had gone over ther 5 limit, i didnt no that existed. the customer support promptly reset it for me, for no charge, these are great people and know what they are doing. you can get a trial version to test it out at prestomypc.com it is very cool!

Yes, I’m definitely excited about my Asus 701 (Eee)! I was unable to use my Eee as much as I wanted this week, but I managed to write a couple of posts on it. I really like the keyboard, but there’s room for improvement with the trackpad, the display, and the webcam. It turns out that my trackpad problems are related to updating the BIOS and that the solution (for now) is to avoid the lowest and highest sensitivity settings. The display is fine for a 9 device but I’m looking forward to more brighness/contrast, more surface area (10″), and more resolution (1024×600) in future versions. As you can see in my video and Kevin Tofel’s video, the webcam’s frame rate is quite poor, unfortunately. Here’s an update of what I’ve done so far… Software: – Enabled full desktop mode – Looked into enabling Bluetooth and dialup support in Xandros Linux – Looked into installing Windows XP Hardware: – Upgraded the memory from 512 MB to 1 GB – Added an 8 GB SDHC card – Looked into installing an internal USB Bluetooth module via the MDC slot – Looked into installing an internal HSDPA modem, SIM holder and antenna via the spare mini PCIe slot – Looked into installing an internal ExpressCard SSD via the spare mini PCIe slot For more information visit tnkgrl.wordpress.com

Ubuntu 8.04 running on the EEE PC 900 video as requested. This is the big boy’s Linux for those who were unsatisfied with the Fisher Price style Xandros software suite. Judging by its performance its no surprise Asus went for Xandros as this system pushes the EEE PC almost as hard as Vista did. All the eye candy was turned up on this install so with the Xubuntu script and other optimisations, this OS should run even smoother.
