drivers for saville row blade 75 laptop

Question by Rupert G: drivers for saville row blade 75 laptop
one just like this…

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/81412/savrow-blade-75.html

if any of you have a laptop like this id be happy to give 10 points if you can list what components are used i.e. graphic card, sound card and tv card. I had to reinstall windows but lost the cd with the drivers. and as savrow went out of business i cant contact them.
even installing linux doesnt help as it still cannot identify the tv card (which was built in). i cannot use winmsd to identify hardware either !
so again -if anyone can let me know

i) Graphics Card- I believe its an ATI of some sort
ii) Sound Card – I think its AC97
iii) TV Tuner – I know lifeview do the software but dont know the card

id appreciate it.
thanks
ps i did download a freeware utility to identify the components but no real luck.

What shall I do with a dongle that doesn’t work with my Linux laptop?

Question by SANDRA L: What shall I do with a dongle that doesn’t work with my Linux laptop?
I got a dongle from T-mobile, and paid for it. I have no use for it. Should I sell it, flush it down the toilet, frame it and hang it on the wall? Or what?

Best answer:

Answer by Graham H
Take it back to the shop with your laptop and if they can’t make it work ask for your money back. Don’t forget to take your receipt.

I have an old laptop. ITA is a Toshiba Satellite 220CS program. You know, just 128MB RAM and a Pentium .. lol .. Although I try to breathe some new life. and like its Windows 95 for now I wanted to install a Linux distribution on it, and that’s where the trouble began. I havnt gone to flash at all, like Ubuntu. I tried SUSE forstly, because I know he loves the oldies. did not. Then I tried DSL. Nope. After a few more, I came across SliTaz. only 25 MB for the ISO, I thought it would be small enough for the PC, but since it loads the kernel of the screen, and there is no response from the PC. The CD player spins and flashes of light, but it does nothing. can someone fathon this, or whether there is a distribution problem, could someone point me in the right direction. 10 points to that makes me a login screen .. lol ok .. I doubt if it was cooked .. lol .. Windows boots up fine .. we can reasonable answers, oh, and I’m d / lin puppies tape.bien I, you know, as I think it had 128 MB of RAM? get ready for this .. its got 16 MB .. yep that’s all .. DLS puppies and take up too much memory cooked, I get “out of memory” and will continue to try to kill non-core tasks. I need smaller .. How about if I see an old version of DSL or puppy? I’m looking now stuck. Visopsys not even be executed. holding a reboot .. lol .. I just dont get it .. if win95 works, why maintain dsl? certainly a good old Linux uses less resources than Windows. New Desktop Vs. New Laptop

www.lockergnome.com – When price is no object to someone, they may not blink at paying top dollar for a raging new computer setup — even if they’ll never use it to its maximum potential. Rather than pondering why anyone would throw money around in such a seemingly wasteful manner, maybe we should just appreciate when they decide to throw their “old” systems in the direction of the needy (ie us)! Sherman DeForest talks about how to buy a laptop and salvage a desktop in just such a situation.
