When you install Linux, will all of your files remain on the computer and can easily be found through the new OS?

  11. TheDarkNinjato says:

    @TheHurulv

yep. that’s what lots of people do.

just keep in mind that there’s no ext4 readers for windows yet, so format your linux partition as ext3

  12. poslla7486 says:

    …so you need linux???

  13. TheHurulv says:

Can I have both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows? So when im starting my computer I can choose Windows or Linux

  14. BigDawgDesigns says:

    Ok everybody
Next Video will be done by next week.
I finally was able to get around to do it.
    Got myself a VirtualBox.
The next video will be about how to install Linux using entire hard drive (removing windows if windows is currently installed), then later I will make a part 2 video to show how to install using a dual boot metod.

  15. RATSCALLION129 says:

Kbz, i may be a bit late in my reply, but if you recieve a logon screen via live cd the user name and pass are the following
    user
    ubuntu

  16. Secret1337 says:

    1. Get a new CD.
    2. Write the disc at 4x or below.

  17. ThomasE1234 says:

now it says… media inserted is not writable, please reinsert the writable media

  18. ThomasE1234 says:

i cant get the burning to work
i open the ISO with my application…’infra-recorder’ and it just says: “”unable to parse project file, it may be corrupt. The XML processor returned: 2″”
    any reason for this?

  19. BigDawgDesigns says:

Also, my next video (wen i have time, will show you how to install Linux on a sepearte partition so that you can keep Windows and Linux at the same time and just choose to use which one whenever you want. You don’t have to wait for me though, there are plenty of tutorials on installing Linux here on Youtube.
I am just trying to do is so that anyone will understand how. Future videos I make will be about how to use linux, like updating, changing the feel of your desktop, etc…

  20. BigDawgDesigns says:

Yes, if you follow these instructions and choose the option “Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer” then once in Ubuntu, just go to the top and click on the power button and turn off your computer. If I remember, it will also tell you to remove the disc to finish shutting down, and yes, XP should be back once you restart your computer.

  21. Obito126 says:

so i can just restart my pc,Take the disk out,And it will be back to my Windows XP desktop ?

  22. BigDawgDesigns says:

On my next video I will also show you how to boot from a USB flash drive. It will most likely be at the end as a bonus. But the next video will come out around very early November because I want to use 8.10, not the beta. It will be based on installing it in a dual boot method, or full installation, and at the end i will show how to boot from usb.

  23. BigDawgDesigns says:

sorry, but i’ve never experienced anything like that. The only advice I could give you is redownload the Ubuntu disc and do it over again, or try your luck with the same disc and just try the last few stpes again.

  24. ktoz123 says:

for some reason when i load the live cd (try without affecting system) it asks for a username and pass. any reason for this problem?
